A fighter may kick or punch any part of the device during it's movement
or while it is in a stationary sparring position. The android is fully
padded from head to toe as a means of protecting the fighter and itself
from injury and damage. The apparatus is designed for operation with alternating
or direct current. In this fashion, it's battery may be charged before
use and the apparatus may be moved to a desired location for use. The base
is comprised of hollow legs through which control circuitry is routed,
roller wheels and lockdown mechanisms such that the fighter can move the
device into position readily and thereafter secure it for operation. The
fighting apparatus is also tri-sectional for ease of transport and shipping.
Finally, while the fighting android has offensive capabilities there are
other safety features incorporated. The force of the punch is minimal and
the fist is contact sensitive. Upon too much force or resistance being
applied, the fist is mechanically and electronically retracted.
The best means to train for a sport or activity is to "safely"
perform the specific movements and strategies utilized in the actual event.
Thus, the reason SDT's fighting android will satisfy and overcome the obvious
shortcomings of training with a passive dummy, shadow boxing and sparring
countless hours with a real or imaginary partner. In addition, "Fighting Andy" provides a realistic, highly effective and above all, safe means
of practicing one's skills. "Our androids don't get tired!"
